The Virginia Black Business Expo is Virginia's largest business networking and educational event for Black-owned business owners attracting thousands of attendees and showcasing more than one hundred small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Last week, from August 12-14, 2023, the Virginia Black Business Expo and Conference took place, and it was nothing short of inspirational. The event, known as the largest business networking and educational gathering for Black-owned businesses in the District of Columbia and Virginia, welcomed more than 1500 attendees and showcased over 125 Black-owned businesses.

A Journey Through the Black Culture of Fredericksburg
Led by Dr. Gaila Sims, FAM Curator of African American History and Special Projects, the Black History Walking Tours begins in the eighteenth century with John DeBaptiste and the establishment of French John’s Wharf and touches on thriving Black businesses on Princess Anne Street in the mid-twentieth century, and culminates with contemporary favorites scattered across the city.
